Apparentely there is a sensor in the master brake cylinder that sends a signal to the brake controller, the sensor is probably faulty. The sensor cannot be replaced separately. The TBC fault shouldn't be anything serious, my 05 says the same thing if I use the remote start, its just the Trailer Brake Controller, for some reason it probably isn't getting power, thats why mine does it, then when I put the key in and turn it to on it goes away..Good luck.

So I put the new alternator on and jump start it and in the instrument cluster it says "TBC Fault". I looked in the manual and it says if this light comes on take it to a dealer but I'm not taking it to the dealer to have them charge me 150 bucks for fixing a blown fuse if that would be the cause.
