Federal hst 9mm 147 vs 124.

I've tried the HST 147 grain +Ps, but they are a bit much to handle in a subcompact, so I want to go with the 124 grain ammo. Any thoughts on the standard vs. +P load for a 3.39" barrel? Thanks! I have heard a lot of people on various forums argue that 147 gr from any of the big 3 is the best bet since 147 gr loses the least % of velocity coming out of a short barrel, and that it will still expand while penetrating further than 124.

This is best for guns with shorter barrels (ie conceal carry) vs the 147 grain standard pressure load. Either brand.
