lq4 vs lq9. Higher compression is higher horsepower. You may need to run premium with the lq9 but the computer will compensate with whatever octane you throw in it. Lower compression is better for boosted applications. Go with the lq9 if you don't plan to put power adders on it.

LQ9 is iron, that's really it's only downside. L76 and L92 are gen 4 variable cam timing engines (L76 can change phasing, L92 has actual variable valve timing), but both are aluminum blocks and make great power stock.
