The shield part is great, but I find it difficult to hit an enemy unless it is exactly the right distance and angle. Melee weapons like swords are easy to hit with and I find that I often have to switch to swords to actually be able to hit well.Even if I grab the first crafting ability "Build Weapons" there is still no way to improve or build a melee weapon.
