I'm actually bullish on RRECS, or at least the idea of RRECS. The current eval system, basing years of pay off a 2 week sampling window, is just bad math. But RRECS as it exists today has problems: Some of the standards are simply unachievable, the system lacks transparency, there is no method to verify/dispute the data collected, etc.The RRECS system computes the base hours for a rural route’s pay. Consider, as an example, every time a rural carrier records a stamp sale on their scanner, it costs the USPS a little bit of money. So it is in the best interest of the USPS to make the RRECS scans as convoluted and difficult as possible. Maybe even explains why the user interface is so terrible in the first place!
