The placement requires some practice, but can be done after building the entire room.corruption pretty much just halves your hp and stamina. so if you have 500hp and stay too long you gonna have 250hp. so I wouldn't go in there till about 400hp starting. no use dieing 1shot to a scorpion etc. If you have the encumbrance bring your dancer with you.The weapons are simple. Kill stuff, you must get the finishing hit to kill a mob, the relative power of the mobs you kill give you a boost to your timer. The lowest level stuff seems to give a boost between 30 seconds and a minute while field bosses give 10 to 15 minutes.A single "Soul Drain" ritual at the sacrificial stone will max out your corruption. I second this. Do the soul drain once and you'll get maximum corruption, or at least very close to it. As others have said, suck some souls by sacrificing people.
