All I have to do is press and hold that indicator for 3 to 5 seconds. It then changes to RAB-OFF. While RAB is turned off, there are no further issues with backing up the trailer. Best news is that there is an indicator that appears on the dash, reminding you that you have it turned off.

To disable the RAB simply go into reverse and click the "RAB" in the bottom left of the console display for 3-5 seconds. That will disable the system until you do the same to re-activate it.

End result, the sensors in the back needed to be replaced. It hasn't happened since. 2016 Outback 3.6R + Eyesight + Nav + Moon Roof.
