I need the internet to WFH now. The residence has the older white box ONT, model number SFH ONT 612A powered up. I have my own Verizon G1100 and would like to know if it can be possible to start my service with the older ONT until the install date of the new ONT. I understand the speeds will be lower, but at least I won't lose my job.

I think Verizon will, after forcing you through a million troubleshooting steps, offer to replace your ONT. I'd suspect that they'd replace with a GPON unit since the extra cost of the unit is probably less than having to reinstall when and if a person decides to upgrade their speed and they are likely more reliable esp. if a user is complaining.Run an Ethernet cable from the Verizon FIOS router's WAN/Internet port to the Ethernet port on the ONT. Despite both of the sides being connected, L1 is the only active jack. All tip/ring pairs wiring going to the jacks throughout the house should connect to the terminals on the left side of the strip (the L1 side).
