Master lost sector not dropping exotics.
The rewards are random. Just because the reward [i]may[/i] be an exotic helm doesn't mean it will (1) actually be an exotic and (2) even if it is, there is no guarantee that it'll be one you don't yet have. This is the nature of non-quest Destiny rewards (lost sectors are not quests). Destiny rewards are granted from loot pools.
Master nightfalls have a around a 50% drop chance and master lost sectors have around a 30% drop chance. That works out to a 1.6% chance of Stomp-ees from any given nightfall and a 5% chance from a leg lost sector. It depends on the lost sector and how fast you can consistently clear that particular lost sector on each difficulty. The Master drop rate is higher, but it is not 2x as high. So, if you are clearing Legend in 5m and Master in 10m, running twice the number of Legend in the same time it would take to do Master will probably get you more drops.Master isn't much better than legend when it comes to drop rate. Unless your clear time for the lost sector is roughly the same on both difficulties, I'd say it's probably better to just run legend.
