Yup, I got the Ikelos upgrade as soon as possible and am now done with the shotgun and sniper. 4/5 & 3/5 on SMG & HC too. All my umbrals go to random Ikelos weapons and it's been worth it! I got 2 SMG reds tonight back to back (2/3, 3rd was a normal sniper) so there is definitely a chance to get reds this way.
