Currently booked at the Amfora Grand Beach Resort on Hvar (costly) - but wondering if we should consider the Bluesun Hotel Elaphusa on Bol instead. Split is great for island hopping to Brac, Hvar, Korcula and Mljet.Zadar is smaller and weather, especially winds and rain, in these parts can be worse than in Split. Traveling to Plitvice from Zagreb is just about 20-30 minutes longer than from Zadar. You can also do a day trip from Zagreb to coast with a car. Zadar nice beach Borik, is not close to the old town where all the action is. My suggestion is Split. Stay somewhere east of the old town near a beach.
