Highway driving / rain. On to the road-trip (TL;DR : driving from Bay Area to LA - via Paso Robles / Carrizo Plain) . I had no issues with the tonneau cover on the highway (~70 mph) - stayed in place, no flapping etc.. There was moderate rain for 1 hr+ and the luggage seemed to be fine on arrival in Paso Robles.

And even if it were, bikes don't hang well on the tailgate because of how fat it is. The distance between down tube and fork is not nearly enough for the bike to sit down properly.
