I'm level 1 and I'm starting with the chalice implement and root to life, later taking talisman esoterica and battle medicine to be a support character and support healing.The Thaumaturge feels more Witchy than the Witch. I suspect this is due to the some of the clear themes and inspirations for the thaumaturge hewing closely to Western occultism and folk-magic traditions. With the option to take a familiar and multi-class archetypes can't see any much of a reason to take the witch as a class.
