I have a Ford 3000, and I have broken the draft control (touch control) arm off while backing. I need to replace it since I cannot raise and lower the brush cutter without it. As JMOR says, you are compressing springs as shown in the picture. Selecting Position control moves the pin onto the cam as in the picture. There is little lubrication in the area of the cam and pin so the pin wears when you use Position control and if you constantly use Position rather than Draft, the pin has a limited life.Joined. I think most if not all 3ph's have two possible oil paths to the cylinder. When raising in position control, once the control handle gets to a certain point on the quadrant, the lift arms will not stop raising and continue all the way to the fully raised position. On my 2400H the instructions are to move the control lever to max height and then adjust the lift control rod so that you can still lift the arms approx 1/2". This provides full lift height and also provides a little leeway so that the arms never bottom out and keep the system at full pressure.Is the draft control out of adjustment? There are two adjustment to make, one with the lever down in draft control position and another with the lever up in position control.
